Shogun: Total War is a strategic and tactical real-time turn-based video game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Electronic Arts for the personal computer of Microsoft Windows. Released in June 2000, the game became the first title in the series Total War The Creative Assembly. Set in Japan during the Sengoku Jidai-the "Warring States" period from the 15th to early-17th century games with the players through the leaders of a contemporary Japanese family, trying to conquer countries and request the location of the shogun. The turn-based aspect of the game focuses on a map of Japan, where the military, religious, diplomatic, economic and espionage all actions affecting the players, while the game is fighting in a real-time 3D mode. Sun Tzu Art of War is the center of the game; Its precepts often quoted and strategies recommended.
